AESA clarification on Flight Chief

At the request of AEPAL last July, the State Aviation Safety Agency -AESA- has sent a response on the figure of the Chief of Flights at aerodromes.

Based on visits by Civil Guard agents where they requested the presence of the Flight Chief whenever there was flight activity at an aerodrome, AESA clarifies in said letter that his presence is NOT mandatory. The figure of the Flight Chief is still in force, but his functions can be carried out remotely. In addition, the Director of the Agency has already announced that this figure will disappear in the new Royal Decree that regulates the activity of ultralight aircraft.

In the attached link you can read the letter from AEPAL with the response. And it would be good to carry a copy with you when you fly in case the Civil Guard shows up at your field for an inspection.
